People did not miss the SK Sturm Graz championship celebrations on Graz’s main square and a general visit to the city center on the public holiday. A total of around 70,000 people moved through the analyzed area. The celebrations of the Graz soccer club attracted thousands of people and provided an extraordinary magnet for visitors, which was also evident from a clearly visible peak in visitor numbers between 3:40 pm and 4:40 pm.

At peak time, almost 50,000 people were out and about in Graz city center. For comparison: at the same time last Whit Monday, the number of visitors was around 33,000.

The typical visitor in the city center was male (59%), between 18 & 29 years old (27%), from Graz and spent about 4.5 hours in the analysis area. Compared to last year, the city center was generally dominated by the younger age groups of 18-49 years. Most people came to Graz city center from Graz, Graz-Umgebung, Leibnitz, Weiz and Südoststeiermark.
