At Invenium Mobility Insights, we develop innovative solutions for analysing movement and mobility data. Our data products help cities, tourist regions and companies to better understand traffic flows, plan infrastructure more intelligently and promote sustainable mobility. We are growing rapidly and are looking for you as a Senior Data Engineer/Scientist to join our team with your technical excellence, analytical thinking and enthusiasm for complex data products.

Your Role

As a Senior Data Engineer / Scientist, you will be a key member of our data team. You will work at the interface between engineering, data science and product development and play an active role in shaping how our mobility solutions are created and grow.

• Engineering: Development, optimisation and operation of robust, scalable data pipelines/ETL workflows based on Apache Spark and Apache Flink.
• Architecture & Design: You contribute your expertise to the development of our data infrastructure and help decide which technologies and approaches we use.
• Machine learning & analytics: You will develop predictive models, pattern recognition and complex analyses that will be directly incorporated into our products.
• Mentoring & coaching: You will support younger colleagues, share best practices and help establish engineering standards.
• Product Impact: Together with product owners and customers, you will define requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions.
• Innovation & Research: You will have the freedom to introduce new approaches, methods and tools that will advance our technology.
• Quality & Operations: You will ensure that our solutions run robustly, performantly and reliably – even with growing amounts of data.

Your Profile

• Completed technical degree, preferably in computer science or software development
• 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data science
• Very good knowledge of JVM-based languages (Java, Scala, Kotlin)
• Good knowledge of batch and/or streaming technologies (Apache Spark, Apache Flink)
• Good knowledge of Python and relevant libraries (including Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn)
• Good knowledge of database technologies and SQL (preferably PostgreSQL)
• Practical experience with container and workflow technologies (e.g. Docker, Podman, Kubernetes)
• Experience with cloud data warehouse systems, preferably Azure Synapse
• Strong analytical skills and experience working with large amounts of data
• Enjoy working in a team, strong communication skills and interest in taking on responsibility
